Volunteers and sponsors share how they experienced Home of Malaika. We are collecting more stories - here is the first one.
Volunteer story: Janina
„Loving, emotional and unforgettable.“
Janina volunteered with us from 6 February to 26 April 2023. Warmly welcomed by our project coordinators Doreen and Zamzam, she worked in the sewing and creative project, in the KuPa sponsorship programme and joined home visits: she supported the seamstresses, played with the school children in the afternoon programme and helped girls sew reusable sanitary pads.
Her conclusion: “Volunteering does not mean saving the world” – it means learning together and building a more loving community with respect, an open heart and appreciation.
