12 women learn sewing and jewellery-making, earn a monthly wage and are supported on their path towards self-employment.
The Sewing and Creative Project is the founding project of our association Take a Malaika e.V. We support women from economically and socially difficult circumstances, with a particular focus on inclusion and equal opportunity. Women with physical disabilities or hearing impairments also find a valued role and a safe environment with us.
In our group, the women learn to sew on a sewing machine, make jewellery and master other creative techniques.
In regular business trainings, the women receive information about starting their own business. Take a Malaika e.V. supports them with a micro-loan.
The handcrafted one-of-a-kind pieces are sold locally as well as at markets and fairs in Germany. The sales proceeds give the women a reliable monthly wage that makes a decisive contribution to their livelihood and strengthens their self-confidence in the long term.
