Tanzania’s Independence Day and Our Shared Work

On 9 December, Tanzania celebrates its independence. In 1961, British colonial rule over Tanganyika ended. The day remains an important part of the country’s history and identity.
Resilience, hope and the pursuit of self-determination have shaped Tanzania’s history. These values are reflected in our projects: in access to education, the economic empowerment of women and efforts to help children grow up without violence. Sustainable change grows where people are given opportunities, trust and space to follow their own paths.
