Non-Violent Education in Tanzanian Schools — A Project with Sensitivity to Traditions

We are delighted that our joint project with the Take a Malaika association and local partners in Tanzania has garnered attention! The Camberger Anzeiger reported on 16 January 2025 about the ten-day anti-violence training we organised for teachers in Arusha.
The article emphasises the importance of adopting non-violent methods in education to bring about lasting changes in the Tanzanian school system. Our training programme, developed in collaboration with Bielefeld University and the University of Dar es Salaam, is aimed at educators, training them as multipliers for alternative pedagogical approaches.
We are particularly pleased that the seminar was so well received by the participants and that they are keen to pass on their new knowledge. With respect for local traditions, we are working to sustainably strengthen educational standards in Tanzania.
